Business Operations Analyst
It’s an exciting time to join our growing team! Ellevation is looking for a Business Operations Analyst to join our Financial and Business Operations team. Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, this role is critical to the success of the company, supporting Ellevation further its mission of helping English learners reach their highest aspirations. This role is suited for a strong, all-around business partner. You have wide-ranging skills that apply to business analytics and operations such as pattern recognition, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and creative problem solving.
In 1 month, you will:
- Onboard and learn about Ellevation, and the work we do to improve outcomes for ELL students.
- Gain an understanding of our Business Intelligence data infrastructure and our data pipelines.
- Review and demonstrate an understanding of primary company metrics and KPIs.
- Develop an understanding of the structure, processes, and motivations of our Partner Success Organization.
- Begin check-ins with key stakeholders in our Partner Success Organization.
In 3 months, you will:
- Understand the underlying logic of our Partner Health Scoring system and demonstrate competency necessary for managing its upkeep and further improvement.
- Assume the role of primary point person for incoming requests for maintenance, updates, and iteration on the dashboards and reports for Partner Success managers.
- Produce new reports that help managers better understand team productivity.
- Use your understanding of data to self-QA queries and provide QA/testing support on peer work.
In 6 months, you will:
- Independently generate insights and recommendations to teams based on dashboards and analyses that you’ve prepared.
- Communicate analyses effectively in-person and asynchronously to teams and stakeholders throughout the organization with an appropriate cadence.
- Explore the data to discover patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and trends that inform future BI and data engineering efforts.
- Contribute to a clean BI infrastructure and codebase and collaborate on best practices and norms for improved data governance.
In 12 months, you will:
- Be a trusted resource to the Partner Success Organization. Team leads will consult with you on how to develop new metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and OKRs and will also look to you for assistance with interpretation and recommendation building from the results.
- Propose new opportunities to improve operational efficiency within the Partner Success Org. and other teams.
- Train our Partner Success Org on the methodologies used for our work.
- Recommend improvements and changes to our existing BI and IT systems that would produce better insights more efficiently.
About You:
- You have demonstrated the ability to work cross-functionally in an organization to contribute to success in business analytics and/or operations. Minimum of 3 years of experience solving business problems by applying analytical skills.
- SQL proficiency is a must and some Python knowledge is highly desirable. At a minimum you are able to read and understand the intended functions of Python and R queries/code, without needing to be fluent.
- You’re a strong relationship builder and communicator. In this role, you’ll partner with the Partner Success Organization, gain trust, and push back to drive decisions forward.
- You have demonstrable knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets.
- Experience working with databases is a plus.
