Overview:
As the Asset Management Systems Analyst, you are responsible for the strategic management of software and technology-related hardware assets within the organization. You will develop and implement standards, processes, and procedures for tracking IT assets in order to ensure accurate and reliable information throughout their lifecycles.
Daily activities of the Asset Management Analyst will include:

  • Support the definition, implementation and execution of asset management policies
  • Implement asset management control processes to monitor and manage asset reconciliation and asset disposal activities
  • Partner with IT teams to successfully plan, support, coordinate, and track assets throughout the asset's lifecycle
  • Coordinate the utilization of asset management systems to analyze, review, and track asset data
  • Monitor and report on the status of software licensing to ensure compliance with usage standards and license agreements
  • Partner with management to define cost savings, ensure process compliance, and optimize asset utilization
  • Collaborate with management to support audit compliance for IT assets
  • Support the integration and alignment of Asset Management processes with Service Management Functions (Incident, Problem, Change)
  • Ensure appropriate governance is in place for the CMDB to regularly reflect 94% or better accuracy
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting on compliance to IT Asset Management policies, and recommend and track remediation requirements and tasks
  • Monitor asset data quality and completeness and ensure issues are identified and escalated to the responsible data or process owners


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists with Configuration and Asset Management Processes
  • Participate in the Maturity Assessment of IT Operations Service Management Processes
  • Experience with Incident Management Process Engineering
  • Experience with Asset and Configuration Management Strategy, Architecture, and Engineering
  • Use the Configuration Management System to account for all Computing Assets and configurations to provide accurate information on CIs
  • Verify configuration records against the infrastructure and correct any exceptions to provide a sound basis for Incident, Problem and Change Management
  • Ensure compliance with the accurate and timely recording of all Computing asset parameters in the CMDB
  • Identifying, controlling, maintaining and verifying installed hardware, software, and documentation
  • Maintain documented process flows and procedures separate from any computerized tool to ensure continuity of the process no matter which tool is used


Requirements:
Candidate must have the following knowledge, experience, and abilities:

  • 2-3 years of experience in Change, Problem, Configuration, and Asset management of IT Systems
  • Experience in defining, measuring and trending KPI's and process metrics
  • Ability to analyze performance data to demonstrate the effectiveness of IT processes
  • Ability to work in dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal, oral, and written
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team to learn and share knowledge
  • General knowledge of IT Hardware and Software Asset Management
  • Ability to track tasks, make assignments, and deliver on committed dates and deliverables
  • Competency in process development, execution, and administration
  • Strong analysis, problem solving, and analytical skills


Preferred:

  • ITIL Foundation Certified a plus
  • Experience in ITIL Service Asset and Configuration Management processes and best practice
  • Familiarity with Snow, Remedyforce CMDB, BMC Helix Discovery tools a plus


Education:

  • Bachelors' degree in Computer Science or equivalent
