This role ensures delivery of planograms aligned with assortment optimization and vendor negotiation decisions. Manage and lead all planogram Cycle activities, in collaboration with floor plan development and fixture development, resulting in final execution at store level in support of strategic, category and format initiatives. Meet corporate objectives for assortment, Days of Supply and Planogram integrity standards. Manage all planogram tools to ensure delivery and improvement of rule sets and guidelines, to develop and maintain the best planograms for our stores that meet the needs of our consumers by having the right product in the right place at the right time. Provide leadership and technical expertise and direction to the Planogram analysts on daily basis. 


Recipe for Success - What's “in store” for the role  

  • Provide leadership to Planogram Specialists
  • Develops planogram sets working with category teams aligning with floor planning & assortment
  • Provides input into the plans as the plans developed in order to achieve the targets prioritized by the Brands and Category Managers
  • Responsible for reviewing the base version of planogram developed for prioritized target categories, with the support of the vendor planogram analysts/managers
  • Important role in the sign-off of the base plans for the upcoming year, in each of the prioritized businesses for the Business and Category Manager
  • Understands uniqueness’s and complexities of base assortment choices, local assortment choices, and vendor negotiation decisions to determine best planograms for given store clusters & customer segmentations.
  • Manage the accuracy of all plan-o-grams to achieve: customer satisfaction by market area, maximize profitable sales, utilize space efficiently and provide adequate inventory allocation to meet normal volume including: overseeing test sets, checking for completion of item setup, discontinue? 
  • Ensure Plan-o-gram integrity, compliance, customer segmentation, while meeting days of supply targets and inventory level efficiencies with the goal of decreasing inventory dollars and shrink.
  • Manage the scheduling timeline of category merchandising plans and associated activities (New and Discontinued Items, Category Reviews, etc.), balancing business needs, financial impacts and resources requirements, Coordinate completion of the materials for the strategy discussion meetings.
  • Maintain solid relationships with Planogram Analysts, providing feedback and developing action plans based on needed development.
  • Develop and maintain an open line of communication through Center Store and Fresh Directors, Category Management, Retail Leadership, Retail Implementation Teams, Replenishment, Pricing and the CAO Team in the coordination of category /merchandising, retail implementation
  • Review ""live"" planograms and participate in the approval process along with Brand and Category Managers.
  • Manage the systems, POG rule sets and ensure alignment and consistency across Oversight peers in the department.
  • Provide input to the definition and types of resets resulting in improved store level execution and sales; including external research and implementation of industry best practices.
  • Manage and oversee Planogram compliance at store level for the Brands and categories.
  • Ensure analysts utilize POG tools to build optimal planograms.

  • 3 - 5 years experience

  • Knowledge of shelf merchandising processes and tools preferred
  • Knowledge of Brand merchandising principles and processes preferred
