Job Description

Wayfair is seeking a data analyst to drive business and process change by applying his or her excitement for large data sets, operations processes, and statistics to our enormous product catalog. This position will join the Merchandising Catalog Transformation team as it executes on Wayfair’s ambitious plan to build the best online housewares and furniture catalog.
 
Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate on high-priority department projects – report on progress, prioritize opportunities, complete novel transformations of existing data sets, etc.
  • Become subject matter expert on multiple Wayfair data sets
  • Create robust, reusable data querying, transformation, and visualization processes in SQL and Excel
  • Identify project issues and present data-driven analysis to drive business and technology enhancements and solutions
  • Architect and perform Quality Assurance processes
  • Communicate (via verbal, written, and visual media) high-impact findings to business stakeholders

Skills & Experience:

  • Four-year bachelor’s degree with 1-year professional experience in an analytical role
  • Experience with relational databases and/or working with large volumes of data; Microsoft SQL a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong work ethic and high energy
  • High attention to detail, yet comfortable adopting an 80/20 approach
  • Proficient with manipulating and visualizing data in Excel
  • Comfortable learning new technology
  • Experience with statistical methods and platforms (R, SAS, Python, etc.) a plus
