Credit Review Manager
The Consumer Credit Review Manager is responsible for executing independent, risk-based assurance reviews within Capital One's Consumer credit portfolios (card and auto). This includes assessment of credit strategies and practices, effectiveness of policy implementation and risk governance. The Manager will contribute towards the execution of the annual Credit Review operating plan by leading and participating in reviews of credit processes or products, performing monitoring of credit trends and credit changes in the assigned portfolios and in horizontal reviews.
Through planned reviews and continuous monitoring activities the Manager will be exposed to a great level of depth and breadth of full spectrum lending activities (acquisition, customer management, etc.) managed by the first and second line and is expected to stay current on industry trends and macro-economic impacts affecting assigned portfolios. They will provide effective challenge to Accountable Executives in a constructive manner to drive positive changes and business impact. Further, this associate will be responsible for building and maintaining working relationships with line of business management and key associates within the risk management organization.
General Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for working closely with management to execute analytical initiatives in support of the oversight of consumer credit risk across Capital One's lending products within the overall Corporate Risk Management framework and system
  • Provides thought leadership & strategic thinking to translate business problems into analytical framework(s) and independently recommend actions and provide business insights
  • Collaborates with cross-functional partners to understand their business processes, formulates and completes end-to-end analysis as part of consumer credit risk oversight review that includes data gathering, analysis, and presentations
  • Facilitate implementation of work products and ensure accuracy.
  • Establishes and maintains effective credit performance tracking; identifies improvement opportunities, form hypotheses, propose, design and implement analytics to provide consumer credit risk assurance
  • Delivers effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative information
  • Conducting risk-based reviews covering consumer line(s) of businesses
  • Identifying credit process weaknesses
  • Identifying emerging trends and issues
  • Perform independent data analysis to support or identify gaps in credit policies and risk identification
  • Tracking of identified issues to resolution
  • Communicating Credit Review assurance results with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating strong clear thinking and succinct delivery of message
  • Reporting results and issues verbally and in writing to executive management and internal credit and risk senior executives
  • Building and maintaining high trust relationships with credit risk executives, associates, and regulators
  • Acting as an approachable advisor to business partners by developing continuous and effective communication channels for all stakeholders
  • Provide business leadership and partnering skills to help drive the organization towards critical decisions and deliverable results

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of professional business and data analysis experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in consumer lending (credit card and auto loans) credit risk policy, risk analytics or strategy development
  • At least 2 years of experience influencing senior level executives or regulators

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • Consumer credit training from a large national or regional bank or equivalent training in a regulatory office (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Federal Reserve)
  • Credit risk modeling, audit or assurance experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Chicago, IL: $144,000 - $164,400 for Credit Review Manager
McLean, VA: $158,400 - $180,800 for Credit Review Manager
New York, NY: $172,800 - $197,200 for Credit Review Manager
Plano, TX: $144,000 - $164,400 for Credit Review Manager
Richmond, VA: $144,000 - $164,400 for Credit Review Manager
Wilmington, DE: $144,000 - $164,400 for Credit Review Manager
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
