About the role

We're looking for a Creative Director to lead strategy, ideation, and execution for all EMEA content marketing initiatives. Reporting to the VP of Creative, you will drive bar-raising campaigns across anime content, seasonal releases, events, and regional initiatives. You'll translate complex challenges across titles, content, brand, and experience into clear, strategically nuanced creative briefs, mentor cross-disciplinary design teams, and ensure the highest quality creative output.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead creative strategy at scale, mentor design teams, collaborate with Global Creative Directors, and transform complex challenges into applicable, clear creative briefs across titles, content, brand, and experience.
  • Build end-to-end creative quality from briefing through delivery, lead creative critiques to draw out the best ideas aligned with design and brand strategy, ensure pixel-perfect execution across all static and audio-visual assets, and manage multiple projects, timelines, and budgets without compromising creative excellence.
  • Oversee preparation of presentation materials and refinements, guide design craft and production accuracy, and build and manage relationships with creative agencies that can deliver at scale.
  • Foster trust-based relationships with internal and external partners, ensuring agreement while promoting a collaborative, ego-free creative environment.
  • Navigate projects at all stages—from early ideation and concept development to live campaigns—adapting creatively in real-time, participating in presentations and marketing shoots, managing partners across time zones, and staying ahead of anime and pop-culture trends.

We are considering applicants available to work a hybrid schedule, with three days each week onsite at our London office.

About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because you are a visionary creative leader who consistently delivers bar-raising campaigns, guides cross-disciplinary teams, and brings anime, entertainment, and fan-focused content to life with bold, strategic storytelling

  • 12+ years of creative experience, including 6+ years in senior creative roles
  • You have a solid portfolio showcasing campaign success, consumer insights, and creative leadership
  • You have experience leading creative teams and managing agencies
  • You have a track record translating complex business challenges into clear, strategically nuanced creative briefs
  • You have a strong understanding of anime, manga, entertainment, streaming, and youth/fandom-focused audiences in EMEA
  • You have experience in content marketing, branding, or entertainment campaigns
  • You have excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • You are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Google Workspace
  • You have managed multiple projects, timelines, and budgets while maintaining creative excellence

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
