Job Description:

PatientPing is seeking a Corporate Counsel to be the first member of our in-house legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s legal work related to regulatory compliance, contracting, financial transactions, strategic partnerships, labor and workplace issues, and real estate agreements. You would be responsible for executing internal legal work, coordinating with PatientPing’s external law firms, and interacting closely with members of the Growth, Customer Success, People Ops, and Finance teams. An ideal candidate will be an attorney with familiarity handling a variety of corporate and healthcare related issues, and would possess an ability to navigate complex business questions in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do:

•Prepare and review customer agreements (e.g., Master Service Agreement, Business Associate Agreement, Non-Disclosure Agreement)

•Research and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including HIPAA and privacy/data security

•Advise on labor and employment issues, and draft employee contracts

•Draft, help negotiate, and review complex contracts, licenses, and agreements with partners, vendors, and other non-customer entities.

•Engage closely with leadership of the Growth, Customer Success, People Ops, and Finance teams to quickly address business needs and mitigate risks

•Serve as a resource to team members on contract terms, negotiations, and commercial considerations

•Oversee relationships with external counsel to prudently manage key issues and company resources 

•Develop and disseminate legal forms, policies, processes, and procedures that scale with the organization

What You Need:

•5+ years experience with corporate transactions in a law firm or in-house setting, preferably focused on healthcare technology 

•A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited and challenging academic program 

•License to practice in Massachusetts

•Experience with HIPAA and privacy/data security topics is a plus

•Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex legal topics to the rest of the organization

•Demonstrated ability to make good judgements in challenging situations with limited or imperfect information

•Experience with litigation and labor law a plus

•Self-starter with great attention to detail, and ability to work quickly to meet tight deadlines
