Senior Content Marketing Specialist
Job Description:
As our webinar and event programs targeting HR leaders grow, we are seeking a talented and creative professional to join our event content team as Sr. Content Specialist. We are looking for a content developer who understands the HR, technology and/or executive event space and can lead content creation in partnership with internal stakeholders and prospective event speakers. We are looking for someone who has strong written and verbal communications that will appeal to C-Suite Executives and HR professionals. Successful candidates are able to storyboard session outlines, write speeches and coach speakers to deliver meaningful and actionable takeaways when they present.
The Sr. Content Specialist is a part of the team responsible for the search, selection, and confirmation of speakers for Workhuman owned events (web and in-person), specifically Workhuman Webinars, while supporting other opportunities such as Workhuman Live, Workhuman Spotlight, and regional and field events. Speakers include Workhuman senior executives, customers, and outside subject matter experts. This person's main responsibility will be to develop the narratives, presentations, talking points, speeches and/or question sets that align to these respective sessions. Content will be based on dialogs this person leads with speakers, internal stakeholder and independent trend research that drives business goals. We expect this person to own webinar content from start to finish and to be a part of the team that works on regional and field events.
This person will work alongside a team to ensure all content meets attendees' needs and supports Workhuman business priorities. This role helps enable Workhuman to drive its global thought leadership, build awareness for our executives, and amplify key business messages.
This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Global Speaker Bureau.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Project-manage the search, selection, and confirmation of internal and external speakers for Workhuman owned events, in partnership with the Sr. Manager, Global Speaker's Bureau.
- Build, own, and manage the content creation process while keeping stakeholders well informed and engaged in key decisions.
- Create clear, concise, and compelling content in the form of abstracts, PowerPoint decks, talking points, speeches and question sets for select in-person and virtual sessions.
- Lead preparation calls with speakers to ensure deliverables meet the content and messaging goals for the event.
- Hands-on, daily management of all session and speaker logistics including leading speaker rehearsals/dry-runs, and day-of event support and management.
- Create and manage event agendas with key stakeholders to optimize flow, different learning styles, speaker skills, and event goals and objectives.
- Write session abstracts that outline key learning objectives for each opportunity.
- Create speaker briefs with detailed information that supplies the speaker the information needed to effectively communicate to the audience.
- Create an unparalleled speaker experience with increased engagement and communication.
- Measure and report on results (evaluations, attendance, feedback) on all content and communicate findings back to key stakeholders. Modify processes to adopt best practices and incorporate feedback as appropriate.
Required skills and experience:
This is individual is highly motivated and extremely organized individual with exceptional writing and research skills, as well as relentless attention to detail.
- 3+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or event programming with emphasis on content development.
- An eye toward what is engaging and informative - the ability to know what makes a great speaker and dialogue at an event.
- Collaborate with and prepare speakers and moderators accordingly by leading exploratory content calls and dry run sessions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
- Experience collaborating with C-suite executives and high-level stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment with confidence to gracefully multitask on many projects at once.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, business, or related field.
- Experience creating content for the HR industry and/or knowledge of Recognition Programs is a plus.
