Short-Term Copywriter, Gilt
THE ROLE:
We’re looking for…
A Short-term Copywriter who will be charged with formulating compelling stories to support our main business through engaging sale titles and Gilt City offers. You will help craft thoughtful, on-brand copy that brings the Gilt brand to life while delivering on Sale’s and Business Partner objectives.
What you’ll accomplish…
- With the guidance of the copy lead, apply the Gilt voice to original naming for our daily Sales in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, deadline-driven environment
- With the guidance of the copy lead, apply Gilt City voice to on-brand, performance-based communications
- Research selling features of Gilt City Vendors and craft compelling stories that entice
- Work collaboratively and constructively on each project with other members on the team including Sales Team, Marketing Managers, Art Directors, Designers, and Brand Operations
- Receive and enthusiastically address constructive feedback from the Creative leads
- Uphold the brand’s voice in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality
- Shift priorities to meet deadlines based on business need
- Take ownership of every job to which you are assigned, and meet deadlines

THE RIGHT FIT:
You Have…
- 2-3+ years of relevant work experience (writing for retail a plus)
- BA/BS in English, literature, communications, journalism, or a similar field
- A solid portfolio showing breadth of work
- The ability to write copy that is both succinct and informative and that champions for the Gilt voice
- Knowledge of Marketing best practices. The know-how to ask the right questions to get to the heart of the project request
- A hunger to learn new things and keep abreast of the world of lifestyle, fashion, design, retail, and ecommerce
- Self-motivation and drive to succeed
- Top-notch collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
- The ability to juggle multiple projects at once, complete last-minute requests, and make quick turnarounds
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Comfortable learning new tools and systems in an online environment
