Medical Writer

Description
Seeking an organized and experienced individual in scientific and or technical writing. This individual will be required to write medical and scientific papers, posters and abstracts for submission to journals, conferences and other venues which are geared to disseminate data, scientific activities and other special interests focused on the priorities of Iterative Scopes
The medical writer will report to the Publication Manager within the Scientific and Regulatory Affairs department and will play a key role in the development of scientific messaging for the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with the scientific, engineering, business development and communications departments in the company to ensure clear and consistent messaging is crafted and utilized to achieve meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities

  • Development of scientific communications, including but not limited to, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations which convey key scientific and technical messages for Iterative Scopes
  • Collaborating with external authors and, where appropriate, vendors to ensure quality standards and best practices are incorporated into all scientific materials
  • Coordination of efforts with internal and external parties to ensure all timelines and publications requirements are met
  • Technical input to scientific strategy and data generation to maximize external opportunities and timelines
  • Identification of opportunities and topics that may be of interest for Iterative Scopes and external scientists, clinicians, and other healthcare decision makers
  • Serve as a member greater scientific and regulatory affairs team
  • Evolve publication and medical writing capability / team for Iterative Scopes (over time)
  • Input and decision making responsibilities for preparation and engagement with Journals, conference submissions, and other channels of scientific communication


Requirements & Qualifications
Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Publication and scientific and/or technical writing background
  • Clear understanding of best practice guidelines for publication and authorship
  • Experience in development of communication strategies and message development a plus
  • Strong organizational and editorial skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to understand and translate scientific data into clear and impactful messages
  • Ability to coordinate a team of authors and partners toward a common goal
  • Ability to communicate ideas and influence without authority
  • Team mentality and ability to work in matrixed environment
  • Ability to execute technical work while understanding higher level vision
  • Ability to evolve a scientific and/or technical story which build off previous messaging and work
  • Experience in the healthcare environment is a plus
  • Clear understanding of all annotation and referencing requirements for scientific publications
  • Experience in publication submissions, including but not limited to, manuscripts, white papers, abstracts and posters.


Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • experience in publication / communications, preferably in the scientific arena
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and publications
  • Capability to prioritize most important work
  • Ability to work across multiple groups to pull together strong coordinated messaging
  • Ability to coordinate between internal and external parties
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of publication compliance, rules, and regulations
