About the Fitbit Health Coach Manager Role

At Fitbit, our mission is to help people lead healthier, more active lives by empowering them with data, inspiration and guidance to reach their goals. Fitbit’s Health Solutions Team is seeking an experienced and passionate Coach Manager to oversee a remote team of Fitbit Health Coaches as they deliver health and wellness coaching to our customers. This position reports to the Director of Clinical Operations and ideally is located in Boston. Also open to considering remote candidates.

A Fitbit Health Coach Manager is passionate about the power of digital health coaching to transform customers’s’ lives. You will work directly with Fitbit Health Coaches as they work with customers towards behavior change via our unique digital coaching platform. As a Fitbit Health Coach Manager, you will have the opportunity to provide feedback on and grow and evolve the health coaching service and digital coaching platform. You have a strong interest in helping coaches to work as efficiently as possible, balanced with a keen eye on quality and performance. You are invested in helping them to grow as individual health coaches.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Primary support and escalation point for team of virtual health coaches both in the United States and abroad to assist with consultation, technical troubleshooting and overall problem solving, in addition to ongoing professional development.
  • Monitor and direct daily workload activities of team to drive best in class customer experience and meet business objectives.
  • Manage a small participant panel as/if needed both to support business needs and to become an expert in our coaching methodology and tooling. 
  • Oversee staff scheduling, time off and coverage planning.
  • Serve as a resource to clients and/or internal business units on specific programs to help resolve troubleshooting issues, report out on key performance indicators, collaborate on strategy, etc.
  • Act as subject matter expert for specific coaching programs and be fluent in the enrollment processes, curriculum and success metrics.
  • Responsible for overall quality of the coaching program, including key success metrics and service levels. Oversight may include but is not limited to audits of participant records and call recordings.
  • Participate in development of training content and behavior change curriculum. 
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Operations, Product, Design and Engineering Teams to communicate new coaching best practices, provide feedback and act as the “voice of the coach”.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree required, with minimum 3 years of health coaching experience, or related experience, such as Registered Dietitian, Exercise Physiologist, Nurse Case Manager, etc.
  • At least 2 years prior management experience with direct reports, experience managing a virtual team and/or other leadership experience preferred
  • Certified Health Coach from an accredited organization approved by NBHWC
  • Experience delivering health coaching or care management with a digital platform is strongly preferred 
  • Experience working with chronic condition management, such as diabetes, hypertension, weight management, etc. is required 
  • Skilled at managing complex programs and requirements 
  • Strong technical skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and similar tools
  • Enthusiastic to perform regular quality assurance reviews and utilize reporting to engage in process improvement with both the team and individual health coaches
  • Ability to lead, inspire and direct a virtual team of coaches 
  • Organized, detail oriented team player with an ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and a fast learner for unfamiliar areas
  • Passion for health and fitness industry, and stays up to date with current trends and patterns
  • Strong social and relationship building skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. An excellent listener and empathetic leader. 
  • Must be open to feedback and have a desire to continuously learn and grow
  • Able to work flexible hours to support global health coaches
