As the Copy Manager, you work across the TripAdvisor Experiences business—the leaders in bookable things to do—as a stakeholder in how we help our users through the customer journey, providing copy and guidance on a range of inspiring and practical messages along the way. 

You are skilled at translating technical features into human speak, crafting messages with emotional resonance, and figuring out how to make it all stick. Your copy stands out without being sensationalist, clearly communicates the key points, and drives toward the desired result with an irresistible CTA.

While your main passion is writing, you are also a teacher. You are keeping your fellow writers motivated and on track to deliver a variety of B2B copy needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as lead writer for UX initiatives (B2B and some B2C) with limited supervision from the Head of Copy
  • Manage copywriters across Viator and TripAdvisor Experiences on fast-paced, complex UX projects to ensure consistent tone across all touchpoints
  • Establish clear workflow to better prioritize, deliver, and iterate on multiple projects at once
  • Contribute to the strategic development of product/feature releases by advocating for sound messaging hierarchy and balance between business goals and user needs
  • Consult with product managers on survey design to ensure user research is clear, focused, and elicits the necessary information to inform decision making
  • Present messaging decisions to senior- and executive-level stakeholders 

Skills & Experience:

  • Flexible enough to bounce between crafting straightforward navigation labels and brainstorming splashy headlines—sometimes multiple times per day.
  • Highly organized
  • Empathetic to the user experience. When you write, you think holistically about the content system, and about where and how your words communicate an action to the user.
  • Able to distill complex problems and concepts into engaging, clear, and relatable terms both on your projects and when managing others
  • Previous experience in areas such as app development or building new product a plus
  • A diplomatic and flexible communicator with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, business analysts, researchers, and marketing strategists
