HubSpot Academy Content Editor

HubSpot Academy is on a mission to transform the way the world does business, offering a variety of educational and inspirational content — from blog posts to lessons and full certification courses. HubSpot Academy’s content provides valuable training for people all over the world. It generates new customers for the business and delights our existing ones.

The content editor will work with the team to plan, create, improve, refine, and analyze content. The content editor will help individual team members and others in the company strengthen their skills and develop content that meets our high-quality standards. The editor will collaborate with others on the content and video teams to develop training that supports the team’s long-term vision.

The ideal candidate has excellent writing and editing skills — you can handle developmental editing, copyediting, and proofreading all at once. The ideal candidate has great listening and feedback skills and the ability to contribute positively to the team by being a supportive and empathetic colleague. You have a drive to deliver results through exceptional, informative, and engaging content. You enjoy spending your days buried in words and working with a team that loves creating them.

This position is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts and will require minimal travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work collaboratively with and lead team members in their content creation.
  • Monitor consistency and quality of content by editing and proofreading all HubSpot Academy content assets (created by Academy team members, others in the company, and external contributors).
  • Integrate and ensure consistent messaging, style, and voice across all content pieces.
  • Update and maintain the team’s editorial style guide.
  • Participate in editorial planning meetings to conceptualize and execute content pieces.
  • Conduct content audits to gather strategic business and user insights so the team can create more content in a more efficient way.
  • Write copy for various assets, such as website pages, emails, and the user interface.
  • Editor of the HubSpot Academy user blog, which includes building the editorial calendar, managing individual contributors, and developing and implementing blog strategy.

IDEAL CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to manage large and small content projects, bringing them to completion with speed, accuracy, consistency, and quality.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • An incredible attention to detail — spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors are your enemy.
  • The ability to organize, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
  • A portfolio of long- and short-form content.
