Certification Exam Developer
Overview
As a Certification Exam Developer, you will design, develop and evaluate certification exams
for the InterSystems’ community. To do this you will collaborate with various Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and internal stakeholders while following internal quality processes and industry standards for creating valid, reliable, and defensible exams.
Your work will ultimately aid in the recognition of the skill achievements of our customers and partners who work with InterSystems products. As such, you should be comfortable with software development concepts such as coding, data structures, system architecture design, as well as system administration and deployment.
Responsibilities
- Lead exam development processes to create industry-standard certification exams
- Develop certification paths for learner roles
- Conduct JTAs (job task analyses) to ensure exam design validity
- Scope and define exams and get stakeholder buy-in
- Lead SMEs in question item design and creation
- Write question items and review using accepted processes
- Perform industry-standard cut-score analyses and question item selection
- Lead exam beta testing, identifying candidates and providing support
- Deliver and support certification exams using exam delivery system
- Follow and assist the development of certification team quality processes
- Work with team to ensure exam and certification program uptake and evolution
- Periodically assess the success of the certification effort using reports and make recommendations for improvement
Qualifications
- 1-3+ years developing technical exams or other assessment items
- Experience writing assessment items such as multiple choice-test questions
- Strong technical skills, preferably in software development
- Experience working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
- Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts quickly, act as a team player and adapt to change and growth needs
- Excellent data organization and presentation skills, both written and verbal
Education and Training
- Qualification in the learning industry, such as Psychometrics, Instructional Design, Educational Assessment, etc. or demonstrable equivalent work experience is a plus
- Experience in the learning industry as a trainer or courseware developer is a plus
