About the Role

What You’ll Do

The AI SOC market is moving fast and the competition is watching us just as closely as we’re watching them. As Torq’s Competitive Intelligence Manager, you are the eyes and ears of the organization, transforming a multitude of market signals into the strategic advantage that keeps our GTM one step ahead. You will own competitive intelligence, ensuring that it accurately reflects AI SOC competitors’ capabilities and anticipates movements so that our Sales, Product, and Leadership teams are never caught off guard

Manage Competitive Intelligence

  • Gather competitive intelligence from all available sources, including analyst reports, news wires, competitor communications, customer reviews, partner conversations, field intelligence, and AI-assisted tools (e.g., Crayon, Klue).
  • Maintain battlecards for Tier 1, 2, and 3 competitors in the AI SOC market.
  • Anticipate competitor movement, especially for Tier 1, and proactively brief stakeholders and leadership as we continuously pressure-test and sharpen our own strategy.
  • Conduct deep-dive SWOT analyses and build structured frameworks that map competitor features, pricing models, and opportunities.

Enable Global Sales

  • Continuously update competitive battlecards, including crisp “What to Say” guidance, so that sales have the right words for every competitive scenario, from first call to final selection.
  • Communicate latest findings to global sales and sales engineers.
  • Anticipate and proactively answer questions that sellers face in competitive evaluations, and be the SME who can jump on a live deal call at a moment’s notice to tilt the balance in Torq’s favor.
  • Organize structured win/loss interviews with buyers and partner with sales leadership in field debrief sessions, to deliver key insights to Product Marketing for messaging refinement.

Prove Cross-Functional Impact

  • Synthesize key competitive intelligence findings into coherent presentations to leadership across Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Product.
  • Partner with Product Management to translate competitive gaps and whitespace opportunities into informed roadmap decisions that ensure the Torq AI SOC Platform evolves faster than the competition can follow.
  • Track competitive win rate as a fundamental KPI, measure the impact of your CI program on revenue outcomes, and continuously refine the program to demonstrate compounding business value.
What You’ll Bring

We build AI for a living,  and we encourage candidates to use it to prep, research, and sharpen their best work. But we're hiring humans, not chatbots. We want the real you.  Use AI to tighten your resume, prep for interviews, research Torq, and outline ideas for written responses. Show up as yourself for live interviews, final assessments (the voice, logic, and reasoning need to be yours), and anywhere we're evaluating how you think — not how you prompt.
