Business Development Associate

The Business Development Associate plays a critical role in the Ellevation sales and marketing process and is responsible for identifying, nurturing, and delivering high-quality sales opportunities to our Sales Team. The Business Development Associate will focus on one primary objective – outbound prospecting and lead generation activities with school district leaders that generate a high-volume of qualified online demo meetings to be handed-off to our Partner Development Managers. The ideal candidate will be skilled at outbound sales prospecting, knowledgeable about the K-12 market, highly motivated, interested in career development, passionate about improving education and prepared to work hard to build the business

You will:

  • Identify and develop new K12 district sales opportunities within an assigned territory through cold calling, social selling, reference-based networking and direct marketing efforts
  • Prioritize and engage prospective K12 district partners and schedule virtual demo meetings for assigned sales team members
  • Initiate consistently high volume of daily outbound contacts (calls and emails) to drive consistent weekly lead generation
  • Articulate value of Ellevation to prospects while gathering insight about goals & needs of district to support product demo
  • Become a trusted resource for ELL professionals by nurturing leads through targeted sharing of content & other information
  • Maintain accurate information and activity tracking in Salesforce.com
  • About You:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; the motivation and drive to be successful through continuous personal improvement; ability to succeed in a competitive selling environment; great time management and organization skills; Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to persuade and work well with others; genuinely curious; able to become a subject matter expert and speak in specifics; ability to persuade and work well with others.
  • One year of successful inside sales experience preferably in the educational technology market. Excel and experience working with a CRM platform (e.g., Salesforce) and marketing automation platform (e.g., Marketo). Interest in candidates transitioning from a K-12 classroom.
