Investors of Tomorrow offers a unique learning opportunity for undergraduate students currently in their sophomore year. A virtual panel discussion on Tuesday, December 9 from 5:00-6:00 pm EST will bring to life the work and personal experiences of members across the Bain Capital platform; and how our investment strategy and approach will differentiate your opportunity at Bain Capital.

As a follow-up to this webinar session, we will be inviting a small group of students to our Boston office for half-a-day of programming followed by dinner on Thursday, January 8. This in-person opportunity will give selected participants direct exposure to investment professionals across the Bain Capital platform. Team members from a variety of backgrounds will lead sessions and content, offering a first-hand view of what it means to be an investor at Bain Capital. This is fully sponsored by Bain Capital – including domestic travel to our Boston office and accommodations for those requiring it.

To register for the December 9 panel discussion and to be considered for the in-person programming on January 8:

  • Please submit this Workday registration no later than Tuesday, December 9, by 9:00 am EST

  • In addition to submitting your Workday application, we require candidates to complete this brief online assessment* with our partners at the Predictive Index so that we can learn a bit more about your ability to process complex information.

We will not be able to consider your application until both the Workday registration and Predictive Index assessments are complete.

*The assessment is broken-up into two sections – an untimed Behavioral Assessment, which measures work and communication needs, and a timed 12-minute Cognitive Assessment measuring a person’s capacity to learn, adapt and grasp new concepts. Please set aside a total of 15-20 undisturbed minutes to complete both assessments. Once you complete the Behavioral Assessment, Predictive Index will email you a separate link to complete the timed Cognitive Assessment (this is a different link than the one above). Please check your spam folder if you do not immediately receive the second link or reach out to Sam Parlato with any questions. Feel free to check out this practice test which has been designed to familiarize you with the PI Cognitive Assessment process.

Additional information, including webinar links and invites to our in-person session will be sent out as soon as possible.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
