Working closely with our Development and Channel Acquisition teams, you will be responsible for developing new market models and collaborating with Capital Markets to incubate a proactive growth strategy. You will also partner with Legal, Treasury, and various teams for arranging third-party financing of Nexamp’s portfolio projects. You will play an essential role in the Nexamp project value chain and financing capabilities.

We are accepting candidates across our hub offices of Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, and New York City, NY, where you will be hybrid.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with key business unit leaders to help inform tactical and strategic planning via a detailed understanding of all key parts of the development business.

  • Working closely with Project Finance and Capital Markets management to support and collaborate on arranging, negotiating, and executing various types of financing structures for portfolios of projects across the asset life cycle.
  • Work cross-functionally with Nexamp’s EPC, Community Solar, and Development teams to optimize financing solutions.
  • Develop value propositions by understanding financial incentive programs in key target markets.
  • Represent the Company with the highest level of professionalism to investors, partners, and vendors.
  • Lead the investment thesis creation and value proposition for ad hoc projects and investments.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in solar project finance/capital markets or related financial roles.
  • Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.

If you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, but see yourself contributing, please apply.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
