The Opportunity:

Factorial Energy is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team in our Billerica location. This person will play a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with US GAAP.  This position is responsible for managing journal entry preparation / review, account reconciliations, timely payment execution, and coordinating audits. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and possesses strong communication skills and will participate in process improvements and system improvements.  The role is part of a fast-paced team that focuses on providing accurate financial information for internal and external use in a timely manner.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and execute the daily operations of the accounting function, including journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, payroll review, managing month end/quarter end closing process, general ledger, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Coordinate the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and internal teams.
  • Help improve accounting policies, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Assist with tax filings and liaise with external tax advisors as needed.
  • Participate in process improvement, system upgrades, and automation initiatives.

We are looking for people who:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Prior experience in public accounting is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite is a plus
  • Able to be fully onsite in Billerica, MA.

Salary Range:

$115k/yr-$140k/yr
