Accountant
Position Overview
The Accountant operates in a professional capacity within Klaviyos Finance department and reports to the Director of Finance. The principal objective of the position is the efficient and effective management of key organizational accounting needs related to cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and prepaid expenses.
Responsibilities
- Ownership of Accounts Payable
- Including adherence to various channels of approval, collection of vendor information and vendor set up within our banking system, weekly payment of all approved invoices, proper organization of invoices received, and timely response to vendor inquiries
- Ownership of Manual Billing process
- Generate invoices for customers
- Respond to Customer inquiries regarding billings
- Includes working with Account Management and Sales Operations
- Includes follow up on outstanding receivables
- Ownership of Quarterly Partner Payouts
- Calculate partner payments and issue payment
- Organize partner banking and tax information
- Update payout tracker quarterly
- Support the monthly close
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries relating to the close
- Stripe Reconciliation
- Bank Reconciliation
- Commission Accrual
- BS Reconciliation and Maintenance
- Maintain fixed asset schedule. This includes identifying fixed asset additions, updating the supporting schedule, and calculating depreciation expense for fixed asset categories.
- Maintain prepaid expenses schedule. This includes identifying prepaid additions, updating the supporting schedule, and calculating amortization expense
- Provide documentation for year-end audit selections, as necessary
- Participate in monthly projects to improve business operations

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required
- 1 year of applicable Accounting experience (internship or full time work)
