A Hopkinton company just unveiled a flying, hydrogen-powered shuttle. Yes, really. Dubbed Skai and manufactured by Alaka’i Technologies, the shuttle uses hydrogen fuel cells to ferry passengers around while minimizing emissions and traffic congestion. The vehicles seat up to five people with a range up to 400 miles, or four hours in the air, and a self-flying version is reportedly underway. [Press release]

 

Logz.io raised a $52 million Series D round to double its Boston headcount. The startup, whose data analytics platform helps companies monitor website performance and pinpoint what went wrong when their sites go down, is hiring for sales, marketing and technology roles. Pillo Health scored a $11 million Series A for its drug-dispensing, in-home voice assistant. It sounds weird, we know, but failure to take drugs as prescribed causes 125,000 deaths in the United States every year. Pillo Health’s device helps patients keep track of which medications to take, and when, in addition to serving as a videoconferencing tool for doctors and patients and a delivery platform for educational video and audio content. Mission landed $15 million to bring more companies to the cloud. The consulting firm, which specializes in Amazon Web Services and has offices in Boston and Los Angeles, has landed partnerships with more than 200 companies since launching in 2017. The new funding will help Mission establish a presence in Chicago and build off its current momentum. [Built In Boston]

 

Somerville cybersecurity technology provider Recorded Future was acquired by Insight Partners for $780 million. Recorded Future’s platform uses machine learning to process data about cyberthreats to help companies address issues before it’s too late to stop them.
