4 Boston startups that welcomed new leaders this April

Boston tech teams made some serious changes in April. That means an influx of fresh talent is moving up the ranks in sectors like retail, cybersecurity and more. Get to know the names below, because they’re going to make waves in the future.

TVision, a Boston-based, MIT-born startup focused on TV attention measurement for ads, hired Dave Marquard as its new chief product officer. Marquard will manage the company’s product roadmap and find new industry partnerships that will help brands and networks accurately measure the effectiveness of programming and commercials. Marquard joins TVision from Ad Science.

Humatics expanded its  executive team by three to accelerate the development and commercialization of its microlocation technology designed for autonomous cars, smart construction and smart cities. Ann Whittaker was brought on as the company’s new chief human officer from Rethink Robotics. Rags Gupta was hired as chief revenue officer, joining Humatics from Ooyala — a cloud video service subsidiary of Telstra. Finally, Rachel Reinhardt was brought on as the company's new SVP and principal hardware architect. Reinhardt brings two decades of engineering management expertise to Humatics. Most recently she was president and chief executive officer of Time Domain.

Boston retail and data analytics company ThirdChannel brought on a new VP of marketing, Keshav Shivdasani. Previously, Shivdasani was head of global marketing for Reflexis Systems, a retail workforce management software company. At ThirdChannel, he will oversee scaling the company’s marketing efforts to create more buzz around the retail intelligence platform, bringing awareness to new brands and manufacturers.

 Empow, a Cambridge-based cybersecurity startup with a mission to help enterprises “make more of what they already have,” announced that cybersecurity leader Peter George would be joining the team as its new CEO. Current CEO and founder Avi Chesla moved into the role of CTO, allowing him to focus on empow’s technology platform. This news came in tandem with the announcement of a $10 million Series B round of funding for the cybersecurity startup, led by Ascent Venture Partners.
