Netcracker has an immediate full time opening for a VP of SDN/NFV Engineering, who will be working alongside the core corporate team across multiple functions such as Research and Development, Product Management, Sales and Solutions Delivery. As part of the distributed R&D team, the VP of Engineering will be responsible for providing strategic vision into the R&D and Product Management teams, drive the technological and architecture evolution of the NetCracker products and solutions, growing and driving NetCracker development teams on-shore and off-shore, help driving strategic Solution Delivery projects in the respective domain, working with the customer, partners and standard bodies on the executive and VP level to evangelize NetCracker approach.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leading and growing distributed R&D team across US, Europe, India and CIS
• Creating and driving strategic directions of NetCracker product suite, including technological advancement, technological realization of the innovative business models (cloud), footprint expansion and so on, directly influencing product roadmap.
• Working with the Sales and Product Marketing to reach out to the customers around the globe, working on the VP/EVP/CIO/CTO levels to evangelize on NetCracker architecture, approach, strategic directions, product roadmap, gathering feedbacks and using the feedbacks to shape R&D Strategy and Product Roadmap
• Support direct sales engagement on a senior technical level
• Support strategic customer implementations with the senior resources from the own R&D team and personal involvement on the VP+ level
• Working closely with the CTO Office, driving and being responsible for working with the standard bodies on the technical level. It includes leading cross-functional team of experts, participating and influencing organizations such as TMF, ETSI, ONF etc.
• Working with Sales Engineering, transforming future vision of the system into the prototypes, leading cross-functional team of people to deliver these prototypes internally and to the customers, conducting other researches in the strategic areas

Experience and Requirements:

• 7-10 years of experience in comparable Research & Development
• A solid understanding of the communications industry, with emphasis on any or most of the following segments: SDN/NFV, NaaS, Transport SDN, Virtualization.
• Good understanding on modern trends both in the telecommunication industry as well in the software architecture and technologies
• Bachelor’s degree in technology related subjects.
• Background and experience in presenting, engaging and working with CxO and executive levels
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced cross-functional team environment
• Background in working in a martrixed and collaborative approach that brings good resolution decisions to tough questions and issues.
• Strategic thinking while executing with great attention to detail.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, Master’s or higher preferred
