REPORTING & ANALYTICS (RNA) at BRIGHTCOVE:

The reporting and analytics team at Brightcove provides tools to provide business intelligence for our video publishers. We do this on a massive scale, capturing billions of events a day from our customers across the globe.

THE ROLE:

As the senior product manager for research and analytics, you will own the roadmap and vision for Video Cloud data products. This position reports to the VP, Product Management, Video Cloud. And while it is a leadership role, the position has no direct reports.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the vision and roadmap for audience and quality of experience analytics in Video Cloud, ensuring that team priorities align with business needs.
  • Be the go-to subject matter expert for Video Cloud data products (reporting, analytics, QoE) at Brightcove.
  • Communicate constantly with stakeholders. Set and continually manage expectations while fostering a culture of total transparency.
  • Gather insight from customers and the field to drive features and requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle including design, engineering, operations, sales and marketing.
  • Dream up new features and constantly find ways to improve and simplify existing products.
  • Own the vision and execution of business intelligence tools used by internal teams to provide best-in-class service to Video Cloud customers.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our products, services, competitors, and the and our technology stack.
  • Act as a tireless advocate for customers and end users.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, plus at least four (4) years’ experience in software and/or product development in the online video industry with experience in Media.
  • Experience must include the following (may be gained concurrently):
    • Four (4) years’ experience with Agile and/or LEAN development methodology
    • In-depth knowledge of web technologies, REST APIs, and native app environments for iOS and Android;
    • Demonstrated ability to use exceptional communication skills to gather technical feedback and turn it into product features;
    • Proven ability to drive results from engineering teams.
  • Superlative spoken and written communication skills. You are adept at influencing stakeholders both 1:1 and in a large groups.
  • Proven ability to communicate strategies, objectives and plans to a range of audiences.
  • Fluency in one or more analytics product suites -- both audience and/or QoS analytics.
  • You instinctively link all requirements to the underlying business value and constantly separate the "what" from the "how".
  • You are data-driven to a fault. Segmenting and analyzing data is second nature.
  • Ability to work effectively and establish authority in a matrixed environment.

  • Subject matter expertise in big data, machine learning, streaming video, and SAAS offerings.
  • Intellectual curiosity, a love for hard problems, and the ability to learn very quickly on your own.
  • Experience or formal training in computer science or a quantitative discipline such as statistics.
