At Circle, we're shaking up the global economy by making money simple. With us, you can send money like a text — instant, secure and free — whether your friend is across the table or across the ocean. How exactly are we doing this? Unlike existing systems that are closed and proprietary, we use open internet standards and protocols, including the blockchain (allowing us to offer this service for free). Our mission is to connect every person in the world by exchanging value across borders, between currencies and among friends.

As a productivity engineer, you’ll join a small team in an agile environment that creates, maintains, and extends a diverse array of tools and systems that support fast product development and delivery, enable team autonomy, and foster continual learning and experimentation across all engineering groups. You’ll work alongside smart engineers who care about the product and producing quality code.

As part of our team, you’ll own software throughout the entire development life-cycle. You’ll contribute ideas to improve our product and processes, make decisions that have significant impact, and provide feedback so we can continue to get better. You’ll get the opportunity to develop your skills, collaborate across teams and continue to learn.

What you’ll work on

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure they can build, test and deploy their apps easily and autonomously, to deliver the best possible experience to our customers
  • Improve and simplify continuous integration and delivery pipelines
  • Improve local development workflows with Docker

What you'll bring to Circle

  • 2+ experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines
  • 2+ years experience with AWS and Docker and with advanced configuration systems such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible
  • Familiarity with Python and Node.js
  • Value reducing complexity and embracing simplicity
  • Views “devops” as a set of engineering principles and not an actual team or job title
  • Love working with people, strong communication skills and interest in collaborating across teams

Even better

  • Experience building and supporting a highly available (24/7) customer service
  • Experience with Agile / Kanban workflows
  • You've read some or all of the following books: The Phoenix Project, The Devops Handbook, The Goal, Theory of Constraints

Circle was founded in 2013 by internet entrepreneurs Jeremy Allaire and Sean Neville and we're backed by $140 million from investors including Jim Breyer (Facebook), Goldman Sachs, IDG Capital (Baidu, Tencent), General Catalyst (AirBnB, Snapchat) and Accel Partners.
