About the Role: Day to day work includes coding as a Scrum team member, participating in software design and code reviews. Some of our engineers use Mac OS X with Vim; some use Linux with Sublime. We believe that engineers choose the best tools that work for them.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development, design, and implementation of net new features
• Participate in the refactoring of legacy code to make it SOLID.
• Participate in a fast-paced, Scrum environment.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• 3-5 years of professional experience delivering production software
• Strong working knowledge of PHP or another high-level programming language (e.g. Ruby, Python, etc.).
• Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with front-end development ecosystem (e.g. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).
• Experience with relational database (e.g. MySQL).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must enjoy learning and be self-motivated with the ability to switch contexts as the needs of the business change.
• Experience with version control software (e.g. Git, Subversion, etc.).
• Knowledge of the MVC Design Pattern.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with API development; RESTful, JSON-RPC, SOAP.
• Familiarity with development frameworks (Zend, RoR, Symfony, .NET).
• Experience with developing software for commercially sold products.
• B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
