Jobcase is one of Boston’s fastest growing Tech companies, with over 48+M registered members. We are looking for an accomplished Software Architect to plan, direct and participate in the development, deployment, and maintenance of Jobcase’s client-facing, front-end applications across desktop and mobile platforms. We currently use Ruby on Rails.

You will be charged with guiding our core product architecture by translating business needs into application technology strategies. A key responsibility of the Software Architect is the evaluation, selection, and integration of reusable frameworks, services, and application interfaces. You will be a decision maker on what frameworks we use (we currently use Rails), how we build and test web applications, and ultimately influence what web app development at Jobcase looks like in the future. You will be a coach and mentor for developers at all levels, participating in code reviews and facilitating design discussions.

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field 
- 5+ years of experience in architecting front-end, middle and back-end tiers for high volume websites 
- Minimum of 5 years of relational database environment is strongly preferred 
- A broad knowledge of development platforms, languages, and technologies 
- Strong design and planning skills 
- Experience in content management, A/B testing frameworks, push notification for apps, SMS messaging, and/or cloud-based services 
- Able to effectively communicate across teams and roles 
- Ability and desire to thrive in a proactive, high-pressure, client-services, environment. 
- 10+ years' experience in web application development organizations 
In-depth knowledge of Ruby on Rails, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and associated frameworks 
- Ability to articulate engineering design strategies related to scalability, performance, security, usability and development platforms
