EdX is looking for a Social Media Manager to grow our followers and fans, engage and retain them, and convert them into edX brand ambassadors. You should have command of best practices and trends in social media marketing, enjoy being creative, and understand how to build, engage with, and convert a digital audience.You will lead the strategy and execution on social media, creating engaging and sharable content using data to achieve goals for increased brand awareness, new learner acquisition, and customer satisfaction and advocacy.

You will need in-depth knowledge and experience managing Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, reddit, Pinterest, and Instagram accounts. Must be fluent with metric tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter, and have a working understanding of SEO best practices and principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own all social strategies and collaborate with marketing and stakeholders across the organization to craft compelling content to drive engagement, enrollments and new learners to edX.
  • Drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from our social network presence.
  • Ensure all social media platforms are updated and maintained consistently, and that customer inquiries are dealt with quickly, calmly and effectively.
  • Develop and design content as well as work with the design team on the graphic design and visuals to support digital content.
  • Collaborate with product, SEO and marketing teams on new technologies and potential programs for social media.
  • Monitor and evaluate competitor activity in the social and digital space to adapt and modify short- and long-term programs as needed in alignment with company objectives.
  • Monitor current news to provide relevant and timely social media posts.
  • Build, update and manage the company’s social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, and potentially additional channels (Snapchat, Instagram, Vine, etc.).
  • Collaborate with graphic design team to create content appropriate for specific networks to spread edX brand, content and links.
  • Run regular social promotions and campaigns such as Twitter chats, Google+ Hangouts, reddit AMAs and LinkedIn conversations.
  • Track the success of promotions, campaigns and regular postings with the goal of optimizing performance.
  • Explore new ways to engage and new social networks to reach our target learners.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience creating and executing impactful social media campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Quora, Medium and/or Reddit channels 
  • Experience gathering, interpreting and acting on data analytics for social media campaigns
  • Track record of growing company’s social media presence
  • Experience working in higher education and/or collaborating with university partners 
  • Work directly with C-level executives on their social media strategy and voice
  • Solid understanding of the digital landscape and paid social media advertising
  • Experience managing a community, with the ability to connect people, stimulate discussion and deal with customers in a firm but empathetic manner
