The Opportunity:

Do you want to be part of a new product management team that is leading athenahealth’s marketing organization toward Agile? If so, we need you!
 
Position Summary:

The Manager Website Management has the unique opportunity to report into the Web Product Management team and drive both SEO and content strategy.  This role will work side by side with Product Managers to insure that the right content is driving the right results.  The Manager Website Management will oversee overall website performance and processes and manage a direct report responsible for CMS content updates.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

50% Acting as the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Expert

  • Manage and execute athenahealth’s SEO strategy; evangelize SEO across marketing
  • Conduct keyword discoveries and competitive audits to feed SEO strategy
  • Monitor and evaluate SEO performance to inform SEO strategy
  • Optimize new and existing content and uncover new content opportunities to improve organic search visibility in universal search result listings to help achieve web team goals of unique visits per visitor
  • Monitor SEO industry trends to identify shifts in the landscape and new opportunities for the company including migrating to secure protocol, investigating amplified mobile pages
  • Provide SEO analysis and recommendations for overall accessibility of the website for search engines, including crawlability of the site, site architecture, duplicate content mitigation, HTML & XML sitemaps, robots.txt files, rich markup
  • Develop SEO strategy for absorbing and redirecting web properties (athenaInsight, epocrates.com, online.epocrates.com Newsroom and Investor Relations)
  • Develop strategy for linking athena’s web ecosystems
  • Project manage any/all SEO driven initiatives including, content, technical, linking, and infrastructure
  • Drive technical optimizations and enhancements to improve site health and search visibility
  • Own ongoing relationship with strategic SEO partner, Conductor 

30% Web Content Strategy

  • Serve as the web content strategy lead
  • Develop and manage the internal content editor and approval governance process
  • Co-manage content intake requests to determine if they’re in scope, what technology platform to use and help project manage content requests
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Demand gen teams, and Product Marketing to ensure content is up to date, on-brand and representative of in-market marketing campaigns
  • Drive recommendations on web design and layout to continuously strive towards submission rate goal on ah.com

20% People Management

  • Coach, develop, support and lead junior team members, including direct report
  • Monitor performance goals and objectives of direct report while providing ongoing feedback
  • Recognize and reward accomplishments and contributions
  • Participate in team hiring initiatives through interviewing and assessing candidates
  • Document and deliver annual performance reviews including any necessary disciplinary actions

Education, Experience, & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Degree (Bachelor’s or Masters) in Computer Science or Business/Liberal Arts
  • Minimum of 5-6+ years working on web experiences
  • 4-6+ years working with stakeholders in a business environment, working across cross-functional groups
  • 2-4+ years of SEO experience
  • 1-2+ years of experience using CMS
  • 1+ years managing direct reports
  • Strong understanding of websites and their role in the digital marketing ecosystem
  • Strong project management skills. Must be able to manage and prioritize your own work and the work of others to meet project milestones and deliverable dates
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task while driving results
  • Proven data analysis skills. Must be able to derive actionable insights from large data sets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working within agile methodologies strongly preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Healthcare background a plus
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with the following technologies is preferred:
    • Workflow tools – i.e. Jira
    • Knowledge sharing tools – i.e.  Confluence
    • Collaborative tools – i.e. Google Drive, Skype, etc.
