About the Senior Project Manager Position

The key to success as a Senior Project Manager at Verndale is to actively manage multiple web-based projects for a subset of our 200+ clients throughout all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC). Ideal candidates for this role will be able to juggle multiple priorities at once, which include but are not limited to, project planning, scope management, cost and risk management, internal and external communication and process improvement initiatives. Verndale is growing aggressively as we continues to add bigger and more renowned brands to our roster of clients. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager who is a clear communicator, incredibly organized and insanely passionate about delivering projects on time and on budget to clients.

Please note, this position is in our Boston office. Candidates must be local.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across internal and client project teams and ensure project vision and execution strategy are clearly communicated to all parties involved.
  • Regularly attend and play an active role in Trend meetings, where project timeline, resourcing, estimates, and technical issues are addressed.
  • Scope and estimate projects, defining and negotiating parameters with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Account Management and Production departments to build and maintain trusted client relationships.
  • Define and assess project risks, both technical and non-technical in nature and effectively deploy mitigation plans, ensuring all are aware of chosen direction.
  • Act as a consultant to clients by truly understanding their expectations and requirements and arming them with the appropriate technical knowledge to aid in their decision-making process.
  • Successfully manage changes to project scope, as requested by client.
  • Maintain successful client relationships after project closure.

Qualifications

Want to get in on this? We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate some combination of these qualifications (the more the merrier, but a few is great, too):

  • 6 + years experience in software project management with a demonstrated track record of successful SDLC implementations; digital agency experience preferable.
  • The ability to cultivate relationships with clients.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be flexible and comfortable with the changing demands of a rapidly-growing and fast-moving company.
  • Experience in implementing project management and/or software development process improvements is a significant plus.
  • Experience dealing with C-level officers is valuable as client communication across all seniority levels is frequent.
