Senior Product Manager (Boston, MA):

The Senior Product Manager will focus on creating online business solutions for a highly technical audience. It will require assessing customer needs and defining detailed product specifications. Duties include:

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive ideas from conception to deliverables and completion, taking ownership of and initiative with all assigned tasks;
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle including design, engineering, operations, CS, sales and marketing;
  • Apply skills in organization, detail, communication, and analysis;
  • Define long term product directions (multi-quarter);
  • Gather feedback from customer facing peers (SEs/AMs), set up meetings, and meet with customers to understand their business and tech challenges and communicate roadmap;
  • Analyze feedback and turn it into software requirements and technical specifications for engineers one feature at a time;
  • Iterate as the product is built with engineers and customers to ensure the proper functionality is being built;
  • Develop deep understanding of the technical stacks the Company’s products are built on and become an expert with those products;
  • Work across engineer teams to ensure that dependencies are handled, eliminate blockers, and plan for other teams’ work schedules;
  • Help drive agile SCRUM process by assisting with team standups, groomings, kickoffs, etc.;
  • Assist with timeline planning and quarterly commitment setting;
  • Ensure proper communication of releases, answer questions through forums, e-mails, etc. 
  • Write blog posts and host meetings to propagate relevant product information;
  • Manage the depreciation of old products and assist in migrating customers to the latest technology and best solutions offered by the Company;
  • Plan and execute qualitative and quantitative research to develop an intimate understanding of customer business challenges, workflows, and technical requirements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, plus four (4) years’ experience in software and/or product development in the online video industry with experience in Media. Experience must include the following (may be gained concurrently):

  • Four (4) years’ experience with AGILE/SCRUM development process;
  • In depth knowledge of web technologies, REST APIs, and native app environments for iOS and Android;
  • Demonstrated ability to use exceptional communication skills to gather technical feedback and turn it into product features;
  • Proven ability to drive results from engineering teams;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers both 1:1 and in large groups;
  • Proven ability to communicate strategy, objective and plans via requirements and product plans docs.
