Overview:

SimpliSafe is looking for a Senior Brand Strategist who can transform raw data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations. In this role you will directly contribute to the direction and growth of SimpliSafe’s brand in the marketplace. In this highly visible role you will interact with cross functional groups and executive leadership.

Our ideal candidate needs to be able to do the following:

  • Evaluate and maintain a breadth of knowledge of the full competitive landscape. Keep a finger on the pulse of market and industry developments
  • Conduct ongoing synthesis of both primary and secondary research to identify key market trends for both domestic and international marketing
  • Work with brand manager to develop deep understanding of our customers, their profiles, their behaviors, and opportunities for increasing their loyalty
  • Drive understanding of marketplace, segmentation analysis, brand positioning strategy, and product positioning for both domestic and international markets
  • Identify key consumer segments, define target customer profile, and provide psychographic analysis of customer and marketplace segments
  • Collaborate with product team to help bridge brand and consumer insights with product development goals
  • Analyze changes to SimpliSafe and competitor performance, providing insight into the drivers of change to SimpliSafe market share
  • Create custom, targeted reports and dashboards that deliver insights into the current health of the business and opportunities for future growth
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to small team of budding analysts
  • Inspire and elevate those around you with your humility and deep curiosity

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience. MBA preferred
  • The ideal candidate will have a marketing research background and be well versed in usage and attitude measurement, brand equity measurement, concept testing, product testing, segmentation, etc
  • Minimum 3+ years of basic market research skills with a strong emphasis on quantitative experience and consumer and shopper insights, preferably at a market research agency or a research department at a consumer-oriented company
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate statistical output in a manner that is engaging, understandable, and influential
  • Experience with quantitative research methodologies (survey design, discrete choice, sampling, analysis)
  • Comfortable working with statistical software packages. Microsoft Excel expert
  • Ethnography background and one-on-one interviewing skills a plus
