We are looking for a Software Engineer who will be responsible for managing the server side of our applications. Your primary focus will be the development of server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central databases, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end, and interfacing with business units to help make data more accessible for analysis. We are looking for an experienced and innovative engineer, who is excited about the challenge of solving challenging and meaningful problems on a regular basis.

We value intelligence and grit. We'd love to see:

• 4+ working years with back-end development using PHP.
• 2+ working years with SQL, SQL performance tuning, query optimization.
• Experience with extremely large data sets.
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, SQS, SNS, etc.).
• Experience with Unit Testing and Test Driven Development.
• Comfortable working in a team and ability to give and receive feedback.
• Independent, critical thinker with strong communication skills.
• Nice to haves: experience with JSON, Git, Ubuntu, Nginx.
