EdX is an open source educational software start up venture between MIT and Harvard. We’re looking for a sales + integration engineer to help our team meet global demand from Fortune 500 companies looking to help their employees gain new skills. This role is primarily sales engineering with some hands-on systems integration. You’ll help guide our business partners to solutions on edx.org, and you’ll lead the integration efforts to ensure employees can discover and access the training they need to advance their careers.

During the first month you will:

  • Learn the edX for Business offering, from both a product functionality and technology perspective
  • Establish strong relationships with the edX for Business sales team and edX’s product development team
  • Learn how to integrate edX with partner systems such as corporate identity providers and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Participate in sales calls with Fortune 500 companies, with support from other engineers

Within 3 months you will:

  • Become the primary technical and product resource for edX sales and business development staff, including:
  • Educate potential customers and the edX business development team about the features and capabilities of our solution
  • Provide guidance to the edX business development team on scope, schedule, and technical feasibility of enterprise engagements, including integrations with partner and third-party systems at Fortune 500 companies
  • Collaborate with the business development team to produce customer proposals
  • Lead technical sales calls with prospects and partners, including:
  • Identify, understand, and map customer needs to our solution
  • Explain our solutions to business and technical teams at prospects
  • Create and deliver demos of our existing enterprise capabilities to enterprise prospects
  • Lead delivery of integrations with third-party systems at edX partners, including scheduling and software configuration
  • Continue to work closely with the edX product development team to share information about partner requirements, especially areas where edX’s offering does not fully meet a partner’s needs

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be comfortable presenting to senior executives and technology experts in corporate, institutional, NGO and government organizations
  • Demonstrated prior success in a sales engineering role, preferably in a SaaS business 
  • Software systems integration experience, including troubleshooting/debugging
  • Experience working with open source technologies and a mainstream programming language such as Java, C#, or Python

Preferred:

  • Experience with software authentication and authorization technologies such as OAuth2, SAML v2.0, and OpenID
  • Experience creating or operating integrations with enterprise systems such as SalesForce, SAP, and Cornerstone

Other:

  • This role is salaried and does not include commission or quotas
  • Travel: varies; up to 25%. Must be able to travel internationally if required
