TripAdvisor is seeking an experienced Product Manager to work on our Flight search business. The ideal candidate will be an innovator who understands how to craft a vision, define products, and drive concepts from planning to implementation. He/she will have experience leading large-scale new product development initiatives, including competitive and user research, business case development, scoping, and all phases of the product development lifecycle. He/she will also have experience leading cross-functional teams, serving as product and part project manager to define product specifications, establish milestones, and manage standups, ongoing development and QA efforts.

You are intimately familiar with the varied user distinctions across Desktop, Mobile, and Tablet users and will apply this experience to boost user engagement and improve site conversion. You have 3 to 5 years of experience in a B2C product management role with an Internet business. You closely monitor competitors, are an expert in website best practices, oversee quality acceptance, and serve as user champion. You are expected to be a thought leader with the ability to concisely articulate your perspective and provide constructive feedback. A technical background or commensurate practical experience is required for this position as you will work closely with our engineering teams and other technical product managers on a daily basis.

The Flights Product Manager will report to the VP, Strategy, Flights. This position is located in Needham, MA.

What You'll Do:

  •  Be the product expert and driver. Initiative, lead, and develop product initiatives
  • Test, test, test through A/B testing.

  • Bring a sense of urgency, efficiency, purpose, and order to your work process
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the user experience and drive consumer engagement
  • Manage a process throughout the lifecycle, from planning to launch, and in production
  • Develop use cases and business requirements using defined metrics for enhancements
  • Research and analyze performance indicators across key traffic sources with the goal of improving the user experience and meeting business objectives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with all departments in creating product improvements and experiences
  • Research, troubleshoot, diagnose and recommend solutions to increasingly complex business or technical problems
  •  Manage prioritization of enhancements and bug/fixes
  •  Use customer and market research, user feedback, and competitive analysis to identify new product opportunities and enhancements focused on site discovery, conversion, user engagement, and user retention
  • Maintain the product roadmap with key business owners and stakeholders, set clear executable priorities
  •  Communicate the state of projects across teams as well as to executives and customers
  • Create annotated Product Requirements with stakeholders; lead requirements refinement in collaboration with UX, design, and engineering teams
  • Translate product requirements into user stories and work with engineering to scope product releases
  • Manage technical projects, track progress towards milestones, and keep tabs on all the moving parts of agile planning and development cycles
  • Partner with engineers to understand what they are working on and the challenges they face

 

Additional role requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a B2C product management role with an Internet business
  • Proficiency with agile development and teams
  • Metrics focused and driven. Analytical
  • Proven ability to create Product Requirements for both front end and back end business needs
  • Have a passion for the web, follow website technologies and be an expert in best practices
  • Strive for perfection but love to release, learn and iterate
  • Proven ability to create, analyze and communicate analytics and performance metrics
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to prioritize
  • Familiarity with travel industry concepts, practices and procedures a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree a plus
  • Entrepreneurial passion and innovative mindset
  • Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
  • Must be able to perform customary physical duties and meet appropriate social expectations of a professional office environment
