Would you like to opportunity to build out the security infrastructure at the world’s largest travel site? Great, our Chief Information Security Officer is building out his team and is looking to do just that. 

This is a chance to drive major changes in security across a global company. At the core, this is an engineering role, but you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a number of people both from our technical operations and engineering teams. You will not only write code, but drive architecture and make technical decisions on how we move our current state forward. For example, you will design and develop our next generation breach detection system which will utilize massive amount of data leveraging artificial intelligence to find indicators of compromise.

The team is lean and you will need to have broad strengths in software development, automation, system integration, open source security tools evaluations, and new product development. We are looking for a problem solver with extensive software development experience, network expertise, and the ability to coordinate open source project deployments at scale. Our global footprint will allow you to produce scalable solutions that utilize our (big) data feeds of 4 trillion+ events per month (and growing) across 25 global locations. You will work with technical teams to gather requirements, build data source collectors, and develop an open security platform which can be leveraged by all TripAdvisor business units.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A degree in computer science or related discipline
  • 8+ years of professional experience
  • Passion for architecting, designing, developing, implementing, supporting and evaluating security-focused products (e.g., open source, tools, services)
  • Restful API (Usage / Development)
  • Experience with relational databases, PostgreSQL, database design, and normalization techniques
  • Knowledge of network and web related protocols
  • Linux /Windows System Accounting
  • Strong Linux fundamentals and ability to analyze large data sets using data science principles
  • Ability to manage software systems through the entire SDLC
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong cross organizational communication skills

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in at least 1 programming or scripting language (preference to Python, Java, and JavaScript)
  • Docker / Kubernetes experience
  • ELK stack
  • Hadoop / Spark
  • Machine Learning / Datamining
  • Tornado / NodeJS / Flask (One of these web technologies)
  • Active Directory Management Experience
  • API development
  • Familiar with OWASP Top-10
  • Familiar with vulnerability scanners
  • Basic understanding of data models, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
