Rue La La 2017 Summer Internship Program

Rue La La is looking for bright, creative, and passionate students to join our Summer Internship program. This is an exciting opportunity to gain great professional experience, apply your relevant academics and grow professionally. And you can do it at a highly-recognized eCommerce leader in the heart of Boston’s Fort Point District.

The 2017 Summer Internship program is a 10 week unpaid internship. The program is a full time summer commitment of 40 hours per week, open to rising college sophomores, juniors and seniors. You will work closely with talented Rue associates in our vibrant culture and will receive strong mentoring to accelerate your learning.

Merchandise Planning Intern

About the Role: The Merchandise Planning Intern will focus on supporting the Planning team in its core functions. The role will focus primarily in sales, margin, and inventory management in order to optimize revenue, profits, and inventory. This position will give the intern exposure to an analytical view of the business and is prime for a highly motivated self-starter who can work effectively in a team environment. The candidate should be highly organized with a firm understanding of Excel and interest in overall business analysis and process.

 Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assist Planning team in brand and event level planning and analysis
  • Track and maintain on order for future events
  • Assist in inventory management to maximize inventory turn and aging
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including Merchandising, Event Production, and Programming to develop team relationships and skills
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed
  • Create and present an assigned or original project to senior management
