This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing financial team in a new role and support our rapidly growing organization where you will have the chance to make an immediate impact in this dynamic business. This role will involve the accurate recording and processing of MOO’s US payroll as well as providing timely and accurate financial information.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of US payroll department operations
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Ensure weekly and bi-weekly payroll submission
  • Maintain all payroll data and ensure accuracy
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Reconcile payroll reports to GL
  • Ensure proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Work with HR Generalist to set up employee cost-share deductions in pay
  • Set up and submit 401(k) Deferrals and make changes as needed
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Monitor time clock system to ensure that all timecards are checked and approved by manager
  • Add used vacation and sick leave to payroll
  • Distribute monthly commission reports and process quarterly commission payout
  • Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, 1099 etc)
  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
  • Process manual check if required
  • Provide audit support in regard to the preparation of payroll work papers
  • Update and reconcile monthly bank statements from Paychecks
  • Respond to employee queries regarding payroll issues and concerns in a timely manner
  • Liaise closely with HR and external payroll provider
  • Ad hoc payroll and assistance in ad hoc finance projects as required

About You:

  • As well as being approachable and trustworthy, this role requires exceptional team collaboration and living MOO’s MAKEIT values on a daily basis.
  • You will have 3-5 years of considerable hands-on exposure to the workings of a payroll department processing multi-state payroll, in a similar fast growth position.
  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or equivalent preferred
  • In addition to this you will demonstrate the following:
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Advanced Data Entry Skills
  • Working knowledge of Paychex/ADP
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
  • Exceptional ability to perform under pressure
  • Excellent time management and deadline consciousness
  • Experience in payroll system implementation a plus
