Description
Brightcove is looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual to manage payroll and equity for Brightcove’s domestic and international employees. The Payroll Specialist will maintain and update a variety of payroll data to ensure that employees are paid correctly and appropriate deductions are applied.
Responsibilities
- Process accurate and timely bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls in ADP
- Maintain employee payroll files and integrity of payroll database in ADP
- Coordinate with HR and process and verify all new hires, terminations, rate changes, status changes, local tax changes, etc.
- Respond to non-routine employee payroll inquiries; provide information and resolve payroll questions
- Obtain approval from appropriate personnel regarding payroll-related actions
- Assist with the management of international payroll
- Assist the accounting group with the international accounting/reporting process
- Record payroll-related entries in general ledger
- Process equity grants, cancellations and award releases in Equity Edge as they occur
- Produce internal reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis as required
- Work with auditors to answer questions and provide supporting documentation relating to quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Complete all required federal and state compliance reporting
- Assist with the vacation accrual and other monthly close activities as necessary
- Assist with special projects as necessary
- Assist with enforcement of internal control procedures and policies
- Provide guidance and suggest improvements to the Company's existing processes in areas of responsibility
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of multi-state and international payroll experience, including experience with payroll-related software and report writing, preferably with ADP
- Experience with equity grants, cancellations and award releases (Equity Edge a huge plus)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred
- Experience in a public company environment is a plus
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently and adapt to change while maintaining high productivity and meeting deadlines
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to resolve conflicts in a productive and professional manner
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of employee records and information

This position is based in Boston, Massachusetts conveniently located near South Station.
