About this Role:
Mendix is looking for a hardworking, collaborative motion graphics designer & animator to be our product expert and go-to-person for video and animation. This position will be a member of our growing Creative Services team, focused on delivering cutting edge work. You will coordinate with your global design manager and other stakeholders to produce amazing work. You'll be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and animating captivating product demos that align to product marketing, videos for the “art of the possible”, marketing promotion, internal corporate media such as kickoff, interviews, case studies, and more!
About you:
You are excited about new and challenging opportunities that force you to think differently about your last project (that you crushed). You have at least 2 years of experience with video creation and while you may be early in your career, you are comfortable accepting critique of your work and welcome collaboration with multiple stakeholders. You relish in diving deep and understanding how a software product works and helps our customers, so you can convert our product capability into compelling content. You are not someone who just produces content based on someone else’s feedback and direction, but look at the problem with a solution-driven mindset—How do you illuminate Mendix product to customer prospects that is digestible? You strive to wow and impress and find creative solutions to age old problems. Lastly, you care deeply about the performance of your videos by reviewing video analytics and user behavior and then working with team members to improve conversions and user video experience.
You’re the innovator we need if you have:
- Strong foundational knowledge of layout, color, icons, typography, proportion, and superb skills at applying all into movement.
- Skillful in 2D animation using after effects
- Skillful in photo manipulation
- Light experience in 3d design
- Light experience creating character animations
- Ability to think conceptually and create fresh video solutions
- Strong ability to create custom graphic assets in Illustrator, After Effects, and Sketch
- Experience designing product videos for marketing
- Experience working in the technology software space
- Ability to storyboard, craft scripts, and articulate video vision
- Must be able to manage own time effectively
- Willingness to ask for feedback and improve on your creative even when it means starting over

- Bachelor’s Degree in relatable field
- 2+ years of experience as a motion graphics designer / animator, preferably in the technology space
