Manager, Internal Communications

We are looking for a Manager, Internal Communications, to drive executive planning, manage executive and overall internal communication, and orchestrate cross functional initiatives. The Manager, Internal Communications will work directly with our CEO and Chief People Officer. In this high visibility role, you’ll have key partnerships with our people strategy and marketing organizations, as well as with cross-functional teams to plan and execute company-wide and internal organization communications are also paramount. This is a role requiring a high-energy professional with exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess enthusiastic interest in adding value to their team and the company on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be proactive, relationship-oriented, a creative writer and capable of becoming a cultural leader within the company.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide content for internal communications vehicles such as our internal town halls, all hands meetings and email. This work will include gathering facts and writing original content, soliciting and editing written submissions from employees and leaders, determining the most effective and appropriate means of moving specific pieces of information within the organization, and preparing the content for distribution through a variety of vehicles
- Contribute to the adoption and evolution of our internal social networks
- Provide expert, high-level direction for targeted communications to internal employees
- Execute on the internal communications messaging strategy, executive communications framework and plan, including alignment with the business and demonstrating its value with internal stakeholders
- Translate mission, vision, core values and business objectives into stories that interest key stakeholders; create and drive execution of communications plan across the organization
- Significantly raise the bar on storytelling, framing/positioning, writing and editing and the use of new media to advance the story and increase visibility
- Managing the workflow: You’ll help create agendas, attend planning and staffing meetings to capture key themes, share notes and and partner with team to create plans, actions, etc.
- Develop and deploy tools and metrics for assessing the “pulse” and needs of the internal audience and to assess the effectiveness of the internal communications programs
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate should be an organized, unflappable executor with strong communication and interpersonal skills. In addition, s/he must display the following attributes and/or possess the following skills:
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- At least 3-5 years prior writing experience, internal communications experience preferred
- Ability to work well in a team environment while self-directing most daily tasks
- Comfort owning relationships with leaders and colleagues across the organization and driving execution from them
- Proven ability to independently manage many changing tasks simultaneously
- Excellent organizational skills in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
- Proven project management skills
- Ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels of employees, management and diverse audiences.
- Technical competence.
