IT Network Administrator

With our POS at the core and the additional functionality of credit card processing, loyalty programs, gift cards, online ordering, inventory management and more, Toast makes it easier for restaurant owners and operators to optimize their business.
Toast is looking for an entry/mid-level IT Network Administrator to help configure and maintain the health of the LAN/WAN/WLAN equipment and networks, while focusing on security requirements, and Toast’s expectation of Network availability across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to- day support and maintenance of the network infrastructure, including upgrades and changes to Cisco Meraki equipment, as well as the implementation of new network equipment and services.
- As the company continues to grow and expand, focus on improving the overall performance of the network and the Wi-Fi environment, to ensure we have a stable and productive work environment.
- Work closely with other members of the IT team on data and voice network services, and resolve any related issues.
- Administer all IP telephony/Phone system environments, and recommend areas for improvement and troubleshoot any performance issues.
- Meet with vendors and participate in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies to optimize and improve the network environment
- Manage tools used for network monitoring, and respond to any alerts within a timely manner
- Help to develop and maintain documentation and policies/procedures related to the support and maintenance of the network infrastructure.
- Remediate known vulnerabilities and maintain compliance with defined security standards and policies.
- Work with various business units on their Information System’s needs, and use these requirements to collaborate with the IS department on the overall systems strategy of the company.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Cisco CCNA or higher certification a plus
- 2+ years of hands-on experience managing networking systems, including switches, firewalls and wireless access points
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocol and IP subnetting
- Experience with VOIP telephony
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours, to perform maintenance tasks and/or respond to unplanned events
