At Formlabs, you’ll have a significant impact on a rapidly-emerging class of products, and work closely with an interdisciplinary team of designers, engineers, and scientists on real consumer products.

The Job:
- Collaborate with fellow designers and engineers to deliver end-to-end product development from research and concept exploration, to product execution and launch.
- Produce rapid low fidelity prototypes for proof of concept validation.
- Translate / iterate / build concepts in 3D CAD suitable for hand off to engineering
- Work directly with engineering and suppliers through the detail design process.
- Evangelize good design practices and process.
- Contribute to a design culture – be curious, be passionate, be inspired, inspire others….make stuff.
- Lead and manage design projects from beginning to end.
You:
- Have taken at least one product from concept to final production and shipping.
- Understand design is about problem solving. You focus first on solving the problem and second on how to make it delightful to handle and use.
- Have mechanical aptitude and tinker on arduino projects, robotics, or 3d printer prototypes in your spare time.
- Are a craftsperson. You have a strong attention to detail. Your work shows you care. You are dedicated to design craft from concept to product ship.
- Leave your ego on the sidelines. You understand the best ideas can come from anyone.
- Have knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Self-starter with ability to take a little direction and deliver well conceived designs.
- Passionate about creating the best user experience possible.
- Experience with some of the following industry standard 2D and 3D software tools including Photoshop/Illustrator, Rhino, Solidworks, and Keyshot.
