Healthcare Policy Intern

Boston, MA 

Duration: On-going, part-time

PatientPing is a venture-backed health technology company based in Boston, MA that is transforming healthcare delivery. We are building a national network that connects providers with real-time notifications when their patients receive care anywhere, so that providers can better coordinate patient care. Our customers include hundreds of health systems, physician organizations, and post-acute care providers across the country. Our vision is bold – to build a national care coordination network that allows providers to put patients at the center of their care.

Job Description: 

We are actively seeking a policy intern to lead healthcare policy analysis around state and federal reform initiatives, specific to applicability and impact on healthcare technology. 

What You Will Do:

•Interpret current/upcoming state/federal policy changes (reimbursement, health-IT, etc.) and articulate impact to PatientPing Growth team

•Track state-specific competitive procurements for Encounter Notification Service – build and maintain database that informs growth team of upcoming procurements 

•Track and report on changes in state Medicaid initiatives including waiver programs, that drive PatientPing’s growth activities

•Aid in PatientPing’s new market growth initiatives by assessing strategic partnership opportunities with Health Information Exchange’s, ACO/Hospital, Payers 

•Other duties and projects as assigned

What You Need:

•Undergrad/grad student pursing a public health and/or public policy related field of study 

•Prior experience in management consulting (internship or full-time) or work with a state/federal government preferred

•Articulate - Exemplifies qualitative skills, able to digest complex information, including regulatory and statutory language, and effectively interpret and communicate key findings and implications.
