The TripAdvisor Flights team is looking for a passionate, talented, and resourceful Full Stack Software Engineer to join us in our Needham, MA, global headquarters. The Flights team is responsible for both the TripAdvisor Flights metasearch engine as well as SeatGuru.com. We move quickly, and we're seeking individuals who thrive in this challenging environment.

The Software Engineer will contribute to a wide range of project work, from designing and building APIs and services for consumption by our mobile apps, to building APIs for third party suppliers to integrate their inventory into TripAdvisor, to delivering rich content and user experience to our travelers researching flights for their next vacation. In short, your work will encompass the key areas of execution for the Flights business.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Preferably 0-3 years of experience.
• You have a passion for the web and desire to create and implement complex computer science solutions.
• You have a proficient level understanding of the Java stack.
• You have familiarity with Object-Oriented design patterns and how they are used in software design.
• In depth understanding of data structures and algorithms
• In-depth and hands-on knowledge of Linux, Python, Java, JavaScript and related open source technologies such as Apache, NGINX, PostgreSQL
• You have experience developing great web products end-to-end, ideally in a professional setting.
• Strong analytical skills and desire to write clean, correct, and efficient code
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Sense of ownership, urgency and pride in your work
