EnerNOC, a leading provider of demand response and energy efficiency solutions, has a need for a part-time Finance Intern to join our world-class Finance organization. As the Finance Intern you will report to the Assistant Controller. The ideal candidate will be available to work throughout the summer (May - August).

About the Job:

  • Play a key supporting role for month-end close process in a deadline oriented environment
  • Assist in identifying & implementing accounting policy & procedure refinements
  • Analyzing and explaining period vs. period and actual vs. budget variances 
  • Produce work papers and schedules in a logical format that are easy to review and tie out
  • Assist in the timely preparation of journal entries & supporting schedules
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual closing of the financial books within strict deadlines
  • Assisting in the timely preparation of auditing schedules and related support
  • Assisting in the preparation of aspects of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Assisting in the preparation of aspects of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
  • Compiling and interpreting financial operational finance data to aid in strategic decision making
  • Assisting in special projects, including GAAP/Tax research 
  • Performing other accounting duties as required

About You:

  • BS Business Administration with a concentration in Finance &/or Accountancy (3rd or 4th year) or MBA/MST/MSA candidate
  • Must be available during fall and spring semesters
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy & consistency in both preparing and reviewing work.
  • Team player with effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive, professional demeanor; self-motivated 

Above and Beyond:

  • Prior experience in a corporate finance setting a plus
  • Passion for the energy industry and energy conservation
  • Strong self-motivation with the ability to work in a fast-paced, forward-moving environment
  • Strong customer relations skills
