We are a pharmacy built on providing an exceptional experience to our customers. Our team is the heart of that experience. As we grow, we want to ensure that our culture of empowerment and collaboration scales too, and that PillPack remains a place where every person on our team is energized about working every day. We are looking for a self-motivated, collaborative person to oversee employee relations across all of our offices. We need someone seasoned in resolving and mitigating employment issues of all kinds, to serve as a mentor and resource to our on-site leads. There is a ton of opportunity in this role to define what it means to work at PillPack through setting smart, supportive policies and managing them effectively.
What will you work on every day?
  • Work with site leads, leadership team and General Counsel to maintain and enforce employee handbook and policies; make sure we’re up to date with all state/region-specific law, regulations and guidelines as we expand
  • Communicate any changes in HR policies and procedures and ensure that proper compliance is followed; provide guidance and counsel on HR compliance and requirements including EEO, Affirmative Action, state and federal employment laws
  • Advise People team and managers on diagnosing employee issues, determining appropriate level of corrective action, and maintaining documentation as needed
  • Design and streamline processes for maintaining necessary employee files, from hiring / onboarding through to termination, and work with local teams to maintain documentation appropriately
  • Participate as needed in corrective counseling and termination conversations with staff and managers
  • Investigate employee issues and complaints and implement solutions to ensure timely and appropriate actions are taken
  • Work with site leads to review, respond and maintain Leave of Absence, Return-to-Work, and temporary or permanent accommodation requests
What skills and experience are we looking for?
  • 5+ years of experience in HR, specifically in a multi-state employee relations / policy role
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
  • Thorough knowledge of HR compliance and requirements including EEO, Affirmative Action, state and federal employment laws
  • Genuine love of interacting, mentoring and managing people
  • A collaborative, problem-solving attitude; you don’t say “no” as your default reply, but instead work to understand the heart of the issue and figure out a resolution that makes sense for the company, team and employee
  • Ability to effectively manage and provide guidance to a multi-site team
  • Strong written communication; ability to translate laws and regulations into plain policy language that team members at all levels can understand
  • High level of decorum and understanding of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated experience functioning effectively in a fast-growing organization; you love working with a lot of moving parts and know how to make decisions that are both thorough and flexible
