Zagster is a leader in the bike sharing industry, with a mission to make the bike the most loved form of transportation. We’re looking for a rock star Director of Product Marketing to help us make this happen.

Bike sharing is a $1B+ market segment of the sharing economy, that is moving beyond the early adopters to become mainstream, and Zagster is capitalizing on the opportunity. We’ve recently raised $10 million in Series B funding and operate more than 200 bike sharing programs, with clients such as Rochester NY, Princeton University, Fort Collins Colorado, General Motors and Equity Properties.

As Zagster’s Director of Product Marketing, you’ll play a critical role in planning and executing Zagster’s go-to-market strategy including analyzing the marketplace and competitive developments, defining our target markets and persona, building competitive positioning, content and tools, defining our product marketing strategy, launching new products, and measuring our growth and marketshare.

Responsibilities:

  • Field market research (both primary and secondary) to understand our target markets and requirements. You’ll research the cities where we want to operate, the riders who use bike share, and the business partners who want to sponsor or integrate with bike sharing.
  • Work closely with Zagster’s expanding product management team to develop a comprehensive set of market requirements to ensure optimal product/market fit out of the gate and ongoing.
  • Develop all product messaging, positioning, and content to support sales and marketing.
  • Lead pricing initiatives including city/college subscription packaging and pricing, business partner pricing/packaging, and rider pricing.
  • Coordinate all new product launches with internal teams and our growth marketing team to maximize awareness, adoption and buzz.
  • Work closely with our b2b and b2c marketing teams to implement product marketing plans that drive growth and measure their effectiveness.
  • Help us bring Zagster to new cities, colleges and other localities by developing competitive sales tools and collateral for our sales and partnership teams.
  • Work closely with our account management and in-market teams to deliver marketing materials and tools that drive growth and retention.
  • Become Zagster’s bike share evangelist both internally and externally.
  • Be a strong individual contributor and build a team of product marketers over time.

Qualifications:

  • 7-10+ years marketing experience with a concentration in product marketing, product management and/or business consulting. Experience within the mobile technology and/or transportation industries is a major plus.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in product and strategic marketing. You can demonstrate wins from past experiences in driving new product awareness, adoption and revenue growth.
  • Creative thinker that can generate innovative product, packaging, positioning and pricing ideas.
  • Strong communication (written and oral), content development skills, and analytical skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of product roadmap and release planning.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a dynamic and aggressive high growth environment.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, leveraging & motivating internal resources.
