Reporting to the Director of Financial Operations, this role is responsible for driving the definition and continuous evolution of Crimson’s cloud technology infrastructure and associated operational procedures.

The Director of IT is responsible for planning, managing and executing the Company’s information technology strategy including managing IT budgets, projects, overseeing day to day operations, IT policies/processes, ensuring network security devices adhere to industry standards and provide planning around upgrades and capability changes. The Director also maintains information technology strategies by managing staff, researching and implementing technological strategic solutions and will act as a liaison between internal and external clients, vendors, and consultants.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the design, implementation, operation/processes and security of the Company’s information systems and applications including cloud network, desktop, mobile, audio/video, security, SaaS, database solutions and telephony infrastructure
  • Address current and future growth; evaluate technologies for performance, scalability, cloud strategy, IT security and disaster recovery to be incorporated within our Business Continuity Plan
  • Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies that align with the Business Strategy
  • Maintain high availability of all IT systems across the corporate infrastructure, while taking a hands-on role in resolving incidents
  • Manage and provide IT desktop and network support for our US Corporate and US/UK Remote offices
  • Oversee company IT onboarding process including rollout of computers, phone and other system requirements for new personnel
  • Manage technology and services vendors including evaluation, procurement, implementation, and maintenance
  • Develop and monitor performance indicators for vendors
  • Develop, manage and implement the company’s strategic IT roadmap that aligns with the Business Strategy
  • Implement best practices for Information Technology including the establishment of appropriate policies, procedures, methodologies, standards and documentation requirements
  • Ensure security of data, network access and back-up systems; develop security standards, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with SOC 2 and ISO 27001
  • Work in conjunction with other internal teams to ensure delivery of new security capabilities, services, upgrades and network security capacity
  • Define and monitor operating metrics based on overall business objectives to ensure the integrity, reliability, security and performance of information systems
  • Architect and implement the build-out and support of new office locations
  • Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; managing company and department spending, scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action
  • Accomplish information technology staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; defining and establishing schedules, setting priorities, providing support/direction, enforcing systems, policies, and procedures, and dealing with administrative issues as needed.  Helps to create and foster team environment within Helpdesk
  • Effectively communicate on all IT issues, plans and participate in management discussions where necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, related field or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years IT experience in mid to large, enterprise, multi-location offices
  • 5+ years of managerial experience in IT area
  • Exceptional customer service orientation, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • High-level of self-motivation; demonstrated success leading a small team supporting an agile and dynamic business
  • Experience in managing short and long term road maps, predict resource requirements and set appropriate budgets
  • Skills design, planning and implementation of network infrastructure, virtualization, security, firewalls, IDM, MDM, security compliance. Current technologies include; AWS, VOIP Phone, Meraki/Cisco gear, Google Apps, Box, Anti-Virus, Jira, Zendesk
  • Experience managing, mentoring and growing a team, with strong hiring and coaching skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and proven experience interfacing with all levels across the company
  • Ability to be hands-on
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Knowledge of various technologies including Windows, Mac, LINUX
  • Knowledge of cloud systems design and implementation
  • Knowledge and understanding of SOC 2 and ISO 27001

 

* In addition to regularly scheduled hours and responsibilities, IT staff and management, on occasion, are required to assist on special projects and emergencies. This includes, but is not limited to, regularly scheduled evening or early morning maintenance and emergency response. These additional responsibilities are an essential function of the job and are required to ensure continuous operations and minimize disruption to end-users.
