EdX is looking for a highly motivated, intellectually curious, and data-driven individual who will lead the brand, merchandising and marketing content, as well as the communication strategy, in a dynamic mission-driven organization. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Director of Brand Marketing is responsible for developing and executing a clearly defined marketing strategy to position and strengthen the edX brand and engage and retain qualified edX learners. The goal is to foster a community of learners who not only benefit from the edX experience, but also contribute to the edX mission financially as ambassadors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build executable marketing strategies for new as well as existing brand initiatives and platforms that leverages consumer research, goals and overall brand strategy. This includes setting objectives, establishing KPI's and building timelines.
  • Lead brand position and messaging by combining data, technology and behavioral insights to drive and optimize innovative marketing programs.
  • Own the creation of consistent brand messaging, communications and content that deliver the highest impact.
  • Develop the marketing communication strategy, including organizing concepts and campaigns that bring critical elements of the marketing plan together.
  • Support and partner with cross functional teams to evaluate opportunities for growth and retention, providing input on the best strategies and testing plans to make informed decisions.
  • Lead the strategic thinking and planning in regard to potential high value service or distribution models for edX. You will also work with business development on marketing initiatives with key institutions and explore strategic “power partnerships” that fit the edX mission and overall strategy to drive our brand awareness and brand value.
  • Grow and inspire a high quality marketing team to meet company’s strategic, revenue and mission goals.
  • Partner with the marketing team to drive brand building through engaging storytelling across the marketing mix.

Professional Experience:

  • 7+ years progressive consumer marketing experience with a BS/MS in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field.
  • Experience in SaaS targeting B2B mid-market companies.
  • Inspirational leader with experience leading teams and who fosters a culture of innovation, execution, collaboration and accountability.
  • Demonstrated success defining and executing data-driven customer and revenue acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Strong understanding of Google Analytics, SEM, SEO, Display, Mobile, CRM, A/B testing, Landing Page Optimization, Customer Segmentation and Personalization, and eMail Marketing
  • Proven success with brand management/brand development including new product development content and integrated marketing.
  • Excellent communication skills: Written, verbal and visual. Knows how to tell a compelling story and drive brand initiatives.
  • Strategic thinker who is proficient in marketing strategy and knows how to use research methods and analysis to deliver actionable insights to their clients.
  • Highly intellectual, analytical and metrics oriented with a bias to action.
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment where you have to be adaptable, creative, relevant, and able to tell a compelling story to drive brand narratives.
